Skills for Adolescence
Grades 6-8 (10-14 year-olds)

Skills for Adolescence teaches the strategies that young people need to deal with the challenges of our changing world. The program works to establish a supportive partnership of parents, school, and community. A strong "no use" philosophy for the use of drugs is emphasized and young adolescents learn specific strategies for saying "No" to negative influences and "Yes" to healthy living.

The Skills for Adolescence Curriculum Resource includes nine flexible units with 80 sequential, skill-building sessions and 22 additional lessons for multi-year implementation. Available by attending an introductory in-service workshop, the curriculum manual is designed to reduce your preparation time with lessons utilizing cooperative group learning exercises, adaptations for diverse student populations, exciting ways to improve school and classroom climate, and a comprehensive drug information guide for educators.
